It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of the late Kathleen Mary Samms announces her peaceful passing on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at Dr. Charles LeGrow Health Centre in Port Aux Basques at the age of 74 years. Born in England, Kathleen was the daughter of the late Frederick and Joyce (née Stewart) Samms.
Kay leaves behind with precious memories her sister and brother-in-law, Judith (Abe) Andrews, her nieces and nephews, who was more like her own children, Michelle (Bruce) King, Lloydminster, Alberta, Jennifer (Paul) Osmond and Mark Andrews (Jodi) both of Port aux Basques, Jackie Andrews, Lloydminster, Alberta, great nieces and nephews, Brandon, Shannon, Bradley, Jacqueline, Matthew, Andrew, Blake, Emma and Mya and great great nieces and nephews, Emily, KC, Leighton, Alexander, and Atlas, close friend, Pat Ritchie, a large circle of friends, and her caregivers, Bertha Chaulk and Donna Taylor. Kay was predeceased by her nephew, Peter Andrews.
In keeping with Kay’s wishes, cremation has taken place; visitation will take place on Sunday, May 1st from 7:00 -9:00 p.m. at Oceanside Funeral Home, 23 Read Street, Port aux Basques, at the request of the family, a mask is strongly recommended. Funeral service will take place on Monday, May 2nd at 2:00 p.m. from St. James Anglican Church with Rev. Jane Allen officiating with interment to follow at St. James Anglican Cemetery, Barachois Hill. Flowers graciously accepted. Words of comfort can be sent to the family by visiting www.oceansidefh.ca
