It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of the late Gordon William Parsons announces his peaceful passing on Friday, October 20, 2023 at Bay St. George’s Long Term Care, Stephenville Crossing at age 97.

Born in Codroy Valley, Gordon was the son of the late, Alfred and Sarah (nee Anthony) Parsons. He will be sadly missed by his loving children, Jessie (Brian) Gale, South Branch, Wayne (Cindy) Parsons, Etobicoke, ON, Jeff (Cathy) Parsons, Wilton, NS and Gerard (Kim) Parsons, Brantford, ON, daughter-in-law, Kerry Parsons, Elmsdale, NS, grandchildren, Lisa (Jamie) Lori, Geraldine (Lloyd), Cory (Valerie), Andrew (Kavita), Ryan (Jess), Aaron (Amanda), Joshua, Tyler, George, Dawn and Kyle, eight great grandchildren and four great great grandsons.

Gordon also leaves to mourn brother and sisters-in-law, Lawrence Parsons (Marie), Gallants,NL, Beth and Mary Parsons, both of Stephenville,NL as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Gordon was predeceased by his loving wife, Dorothy (nee Rowe), sons, Gordon and Tony, great granddaughter Kyla Hynes, brothers and sisters, Jack, Albert, Lew, Ben, Beatrice, Hilda, George and Joan, two brothers in laws, Jack and Jim Gale.

Family and friends may visit Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Codroy on Monday, October 23rd from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 24th, at 2:00 p.m. officiated by Rev. Faye Coffin, interment to follow in church cemetery. Flowers graciously accepted or donations in Gordon’s memory can be made to charity of one’s choice.
