It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of the late Murdock Matthews Hatcher announces his sudden passing on Friday, February 23, 2024 at Western Memorial Regional Hospital with his loving family by his side at the age of 68. Born in Rose Blanche, Murdock was the son of the late Philip and Elizabeth (nee Pink) Hatcher.

Murdock leaves with fond and loving memories his wife Joanne (nee Clarke) of 39 years, his son, Matthew (Stephanie), granddaughter, Summer, sisters and brothers in laws, Annie May Hayman, Jocelyn (Henry) Herritt, Austin Clarke, Max (Anne) Clarke, Bernice (Tom) Upwards, Sharon (Wayne) Spencer, Derek (Evelyn) Clarke and Tracy Clarke (Ralph Bragg),plus a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.

Murdock was the last surviving member of his immediate family, he was predeceased by his son, Michael, brothers and sisters, George Hayman, Wilfred (Sandra) Burton and Maggie Jane (Wilburn) Rose, brother-in-law, Joey Best and sister-in-law, Phyllis Clarke, mother and father-in-law, Louise and Henry Clarke.

The family will be receiving family and friends on Thursday, February 29, 2:00 -4:00 & 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. at St. Michael’s & All Angels Church in Rose Blanche. Funeral service will be held on Friday, March 1st at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Dianne Fry officiating, in keeping with Murdock’s wishes, cremation to follow. Interment at a later date.
