It is with great sadness that the family of the late James (Jim) Thomas Taylor announces his peaceful passing on Wednesday, November 6th, 2024, at the age of 79 years at Corner Brook Long Term Care with his loving family by his side. Born in Stephenville, he was the son of the late John and Susie (nee Chant) Taylor.
Jim leaves to mourn his loving children, son George (Marlene) Taylor, Louisbourg, daughter, Susanne (Robert), Port aux Basques, precious grandchildren, Robert (Jennifer), Kayla (Jared), Cory and James (Marline) and great grandchildren, Claire, Reagan and Maddie, plus a large circle of cousins, friends and extended family, especially Donna, Norman, Michelle and Leanne (Robert) Purchase who thought the world of Jim.
James was predeceased by his loving wife, Marilyn Taylor, mother and father-in-law Thelma and George Piccott.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at the Long-Term Care Unit (Raspberry Lane) in Corner Brook for their exceptional care and compassion shown to Jim (Pop) over the last few years, it did not go unnoticed and will never be forgotten.
The family will be receiving family and friends on Friday, November 8th from 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m. at Oceanside Funeral Home, 23 Read Street, Port aux Basques. The funeral service will take place on Saturday, November 9th at 2:00 p.m. from St. Paul’s Anglican Church with Catechist Joshua Haggstrom officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Haven Cemetery. Flowers accepted or donations in Jim’s memory can be made to charity of one’s choice.
