It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the family of the late Viola Parsons (nee Keeping) announces her passing on Monday, March 10th, 2025, with her loving family by her side at Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital at the age of 82. Born in Port aux Basques, Viola was the daughter of the late George and Elizabeth Keeping.

Viola leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, her husband of 66 years, Albert, her children, Terry Parsons, Paul (Shyril) Parsons, and Kathryn (Darryl) Coleman, precious grandchildren, Zoe-Lynn, Jake, Ashley, Jay, and Luke, great grandchildren, Remi, Porter, and Scottie. Viola also leaves to mourn her brothers, sisters, and in laws, Kay Billard, Dennis (Alice) Keeping, Dulcie Tapp, Dale (Art) Hardy, Joanne (Bern) Moss, Ches (Patricia) Parsons, and Dot Lyons, plus a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family, and many friends.

Viola was predeceased by brothers, sisters, and in laws, Georgie (Boyd) Parsons, Reginald (Betty) Keeping, Ralph Billard, Gerald Tapp, Ron Lyons, Bobby (Joan) Parsons, Jim (Bessie) Parsons, Banfield (Orpha) Parsons, Kate (Calvin) Crewe, and Sarah (Horace) Welsh.

Viola was an avid gardener, sportsman, musician, and loved her church. She was a very loyal friend and left a lasting impression to all who graced her presence. But most importantly, she loved her family to the moon and back.

Visitations will be held at Oceanside Funeral Home on Friday, March 14th from 2:00-4:00 P.M. and 7:00-9:00 P.M. The funeral service will take place Saturday, March 15th at 1:00 P.M. with Rev. Jane Allen officiating. Interment to follow at St. James Anglican Cemetery, Barachois Hill, with a luncheon held at the church hall afterwards, all are welcome. In Lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Viola may be made to St. James Anglican Church. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Oceanside Funeral Home, 23 Read Street, Port aux Basques.
