It is with great sadness that the family of the late Winter Billard announces his passing on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, with his loving family by his side at Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre at the age of 86. Born in Isle aux Morts, he was the son of the late Ambrose and Julia (nee Scott) Billard Sr.

Winter leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, his wife of 63 years, Annie (nee Durnford), his loving children, Angela (Godfrey) Evans, Anthony Billard and Audrey (Karmen) Strickland, his loving grandchildren, Chelsea (Devin) Schneider and Scott Strickland and great grandchildren, Cade, Cooper and Deacon. Winter also leaves to mourn his sisters, Harriett Green, Eileen (Ephriam) Herritt, Marilyn Smith and brother, Lindsey (Bernice) Billard, sisters-in-laws, Joan Baggs, Liz Walters, Hilda Coleman, June (Jim) Scott, and Linda Durnford, plus a large circle of nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.

Winter was an outdoorsman through and through, from berry picking, to spending time out in his boat, fishing, and spending time planting his garden and making sure everything was looking lovely. He was proud of his family business, and even prouder of his family and their time spent together.

Winter was predeceased by brothers, sisters, and in-laws, Gladys (Dan) Lawrence, Louise (Joe) Lucas, Geraldine (Max)Francis, Clarence (Bernice) Billard, Ambrose (Emily) Billard, Levi (Becky) Billard, Raymond Green, Margaret (Norman) LeFrense, Willard Baggs, Bernie Walters, John Wayne Coleman, and Garfield Durnford, his mother and father in-law, Rita and Alexander Durnford.

Family and friends may visit Holy Spirit Anglican Church, Isle aux Morts, on Thursday, April 24th from 2:00 – 4:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m. Funeral service will follow on Friday, April 25th at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Annie Rose officiating, interment to follow at Hillside Haven Cemetery, Isle aux Morts Road. Flowers accepted or donations in Winter’s memory can be made to Holy Spirit Church.
