It is with great sadness that the family of the late Jessie Ann Walters announces her peaceful passing on Friday, April 25th, 2025, at Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Center with her loving family by her side at the age of 93. Born in Burnt Islands, Jessie was the daughter of the late Stanley and Winnifred (nee Marsden) Thorne.

Jessie leaves to mourn with many fond and loving memories her sons, Douglas and George (Golda) Walters, daughter in law, Delores Walters, grandchildren, Jamie (Trudy) Walters, Travis (Melaine) Walters, Joshua Walters, Chesley Walters, Sheldon (Catrina Tucker) Walters, and great-grandchildren, Maddie, Marcus, Charlotte, Alexander and Rownan, plus a large circle of nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.

Jessie was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was predeceased by her husband, Wilson Walters, daughter, Nancy Ann Thorne, sons, Derrick Wilson Walters and Garry Walters, daughter-in-law, Alfreda Walters, and great-granddaughter, Jasmin Walters, along with her brothers, sisters, and brothers and sisters-in-law.

Family and friends may visit Oceanside Funeral Home on Saturday, April 26th from 7:00-9:00 p.m. and Sunday, April 27th 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m. The funeral service will take place on Monday, April 28th at 2:00 p.m., at St. Augustine’s Church, with Rev. Annie Rose officiating. Interment to follow in St. Augustine’s Cemetery, Margaree. Flowers are accepted or donations in Jessie’s memory can be made graciously to the family.
