It is with great sadness that the family of the late Shawn Lillington announce his passing on Friday, May 16th, 2025, at the age of 59.
Shawn was the son of Christina Lillington and the late Clayton Lillington Jr. and was a loving brother to his only sister, Carol (Victor) Lawrence. In 1996, Shawn married the love of his life, Caulette Lillington, and in 2002 they were blessed with their baby girl, Christina Lillington and if there was one thing Shawn loved the most in the world it was being a father. She was his best friend in the entire world and dad's girl, and dad's girl she will always be. Shawn was also blessed with two nephews, Zack (Rachel), and Kirk (Tamara) Lawrence, who he thought the world over and were like sons to him, and great-niece Hayden Lawrence, who he made sure everyone knew that she was "Uncle Shawn’s beauty".
Shawn will also be sincerely missed by brothers and sisters-in-law, Percy (Maisie) Evans, Glen (Nancy) Evans, Madonna (Brad) Coleman, Coreena (Phil) Ingram, Junior Evans, Godfrey (Angela) Evans, Jeanette (Sean) Anderson, Amanda Evans (Archie Harvey) Johnathan Evans (Michelle Green), Melanie Evans (Bernard Noel), mother-in-law Shirley Evans, special nieces Nikita Coleman-Janes and Glenda Evans-Billard who were like daughters to him, best friends Victor Lawrence, Craig Coleman, Max LeFrense, Dennis Organ, Damon Organ, Darren Organ, Derek Organ and very special friend, Troy Osmond, who gave him one of the best gifts, his kidney. Shawn also had a special bond with aunts and uncles Russell and Blanche Lillington, Lucy and Austin Billard, Garland (Judy) Huelin, Herman Lillington, Kathleen Huelin, Joyce Huelin, and Vera Chaulk-Lillington, plus a large circle of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and extended family.
He was predeceased by his father, Clayton Lillington Jr., his grandparents, Ida and Clayton Lillington Sr. and Marcella and John Huelin, aunts and uncles, Richard Lillington, Ruth and Hickman Organ, Dorman Huelin, Ida Huelin, Judy Huelin, and he can now be reunited with his beloved puppy, Zoey.
Shawn was such a fighter and always had such a positive attitude. He went through a lot in his lifetime with his many health issues but always had a smile on his face. He would always say when his health was at its worst "Don't count Rocky out yet". He was also an avid Habs fan. When his sister got married, he said "I'm some glad you didn't marry a Toronto fan". Shawn was such a giving soul. He would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. Even to a Toronto fan. He spent many years doing lots for Christina and her friends and always enjoyed every second of it, as his only goal was ensuring everyone was having a good time, safe, and making sure smiles and laughter went all around. To say Shawn will be missed by many would be an understatement.
Special thanks to the nurses and staff of Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Center (LHC). Shawns family would like to thank you for the exceptional care you provided him with over the years and would like to give a big thanks to the staff of the Dialysis unit at LHC for always going above and beyond for him.
