It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the family of the late Ernest Matthew Pike announces his passing on Sunday, May 25th, 2025, with his loving family by his side at Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Center at the age of 70. Born in Port aux Basques, Ernest was the son of the late William and Maggie (nee Bobbett) Pike.
Ernest leaves to mourn with loving memories, his wife of 25 years, Loriann, daughter, Joanna (Jonathan Spicer), and his pride and joy, his grandkids, Natalie and Tristan. He also leaves to mourn, brothers and sister, Arthur Pike, Barry (Janet) Pike, Jerome (Donna) Pike, Sherry Pike (Gary Leriche), Shawn (Kerrianne) Pike, brothers-in-law, Jim Letiec, Dean (Gisele) Wells, Craig (Cheryl) Wells, sister-in-law, Linda Warren, special great niece and nephew, Skylar and Jax, and a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.
Ernest was predeceased by his parents, William and Maggie, sister, Marilyn Letiec, brother-in-law, Walt Warren, and his father and mother-in-law, Wilbur and Alfreda Wells.
In keeping with Ernest’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitations will be held at Oceanside Funeral Home on Thursday, May 29th, from 2:00-4:00 P.M. and 7:00-9:00 P.M. The funeral service will take place Friday, May 30th at 2:00 p.m. from St. James Anglican Church, with Rev. Jane Allen officiating. In Lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Ernest may be made to Janeway Children’s Hospital. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Oceanside Funeral Home, 23 Read Street, Port aux Basques.
