It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the family of the late Loretta Delorey (nee Francis) announces her sudden passing on Sunday, June 1st, 2025, at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital, at the age of 80. Born in Petites, Loretta was the daughter of the late Samuel and Martha Francis.

Loretta leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, her children, Leona (Ron), Eldridge (Darlene), Jocelyn (Deon), Jackie (Brian), and Thomas, her precious grandchildren, Damon, Christopher, Deon, Dionna, Madison, Thomas, and Maverick, and her great grandchildren.

Loretta also leaves to mourn her brothers and sisters, Dorman (Eileen), George (Rose), Clayton (Anetha), Goward (Mae), Sam (Jacquie), Karen (Johnny), and Garfield, brother-in-law Shaun Delorey, plus a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Loretta was predeceased by her husband, Thomas Delorey, sister, Elizabeth Harvey, and great granddaughter, Montanna Delorey.

We would like to give special thanks to Sam and Jacquie for being by her side, you do not know how much this meant to us. Thanks to her care workers, Rose Coleman and Angela Evans, you both held a special place in her heart. Thank you to Ruth Lawrence for being her good friend for all these years, and finally, thanks to the staff of the dialysis unit at LHC for always going above and beyond for our mom.

In keeping with Loretta’s wishes, cremation has taken place. The funeral service will take place on Friday, September 12th at 2:00 p.m., from Holy Spirit Anglican Church, with Deacon Herb Park officiating. Interment to follow at Hillside Haven Cemetery, Isle aux Mort Road. Donations in memory of Loretta can be made to the Holy Spirit Anglican Church, Isle aux Morts.
