Darren Scott Obituary

It is with broken hearts and great sadness that the family of the late Darren Lindsay Scott announces his sudden passing on Monday, June 23rd, 2025, at the age of 47. Born in Halifax but raised in Isle aux Morts from the age of 4, he was the son of Dorothy Anderson and the late Lindsay Scott.

Darren leaves to mourn his mother, Dorothy, his loving partner of 8 years, Trina Lomond, his sons, Keegan (Adria Skinner) and Kalan Scott and stepson, Kirkland King, his sister, Charlene (Dwight) Kettle, loving nieces, Kaitlyn and Natalie Kettle and Emily Osmond Lomond, who thought Uncle Darren was the best, goddaughter, Brooklyn Kendell and godson, Ethan Anderson.

He will be sincerely missed by his, brother-and sister-in law, Steven Lomond (Nicole Osmond), mother and father in law, Brenda and Kevin Lomond, his aunts and uncles, Johnny Anderson, James (Gladys) Anderson, Debbie Anderson (Mickey Keeping), Terry (Vanda) Anderson, Will White, Elizabeth Francis, Austin (Lucy) Billard, John Billard (Margie Payne), Annabelle Warren, William (Golda) Scott, Alfred (Laurie) Scott, Eric (Daphne) Scott and Gary (Wilma) Scott, plus a large circles of cousins, Lucas and Matthew, who Darren treated like his own boys and extended family and large circle of friends.

Darren was predeceased by his father, Lindsay Scott, grandparents, Charles and Lorena Anderson, Winter and Leah Scott, grandmother-in-law, Pearl Lomond, and aunt, Elaine White.

Darren’s love of hockey cards and coin collecting was truly amazing. A lot of hours and days went into this. Each card and coin had to be held a certain way, something he taught Trina, his boys, and anyone who showed interest in his collection. Although Darren didn’t play an instrument, his love for music was passionate. He showed it in every dance, birthday, anniversary and wedding he played for.

Darren, a dedicated spouse, father, and son will be truly missed. He was a friend to many. His buddies, who were more like brothers, can surely tell many stories about him. He was a good man, who would help anyone who needed it without question. A patient man, especially when it came to children.

Darren will be truly missed by many. Our lives have changed forever. Our memories and love for Darren, will carry on in our hearts always. To know him was a pleasure, to love him was an honour.

Special thanks to Dr. Thomas and the staff at Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre and paramedic, Camryn Simms for their care and compassion shown to them.
