Dan was the kind of man who didn’t just live life—he embraced it with open arms and an open heart. He had a deep and lasting impact on everyone lucky enough to share in his journey.
For Dan, the water was more than a place—it was a way of life. Whether he was heading out for a quick spin on his boat or casting lines for cod and squid, the sea was where he felt most at peace. He spent many of his early years as a fisherman, working hard in the elements with grit and grace. In his later years, he took to the Lake Boats, continuing his connection to the water.
Dan loved the outdoors and found joy in the simple pleasures—fishing, playing darts, sharing a game of cards with neighbors. He didn’t need much to be happy—just good company and a little fresh air.
But perhaps what truly set Dan apart was his heart. He was the kind of man who would drop everything to help someone in need. He watched out for his friends, stood by his neighbors, and was always ready with a helping hand or a word of encouragement.
But above all else, Dan was a man who loved his family deeply. His partner, children and grandchildren were the center of his world. He spoke of them with pride and joy. The love he gave to his family was unconditional, unwavering, and always felt.
In keeping with Dan’s wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be a Celebration of Life at 7:00 p.m., on Thursday, July 10th, at the Kinsmen Center in Rose Blanche. Words of comfort can be sent to the family by visiting www.oceansidefh.ca.
