Travis Lewis Obituary

With hearts filled with profound sadness, the family of the late Lee Travis Lewis announces his tragic passing on Sunday, August 17th, 2025, at the vibrant age of 44. Born in Port aux Basques, Travis was the cherished son of Elizabeth Lewis and the late Joseph Downey.

Travis will be deeply missed, yet his memory will forever live on through his mother, Elizabeth Lewis, sisters Sabrina Josephine (Matthew Bradbury) and Dawn Melissa, brother Gene Alexander, plus a vast circle of aunts, uncles, extended family, and friends, who will continue to celebrate his life and spirit.

Travis had an undeniable passion for cars that ignited a sense of adventure, possibility, and freedom, reflecting his bold and fearless approach to life. Although he was not a mechanic by trade, he was always collecting and repairing cars, a testament to his unwavering determination, creativity, and innovative spirit. His passion started at the tender age of 3 with his Kitt car from Night Rider, symbolizing the beginning of a lifelong journey. Years later, he would own his own Trans Am, which he poured his heart and soul into, a true reflection of his devotion and perseverance.

Travis loved playing hockey as a goalie, showcasing his teamwork, strategy, and quick thinking. In 1993, his Atom level team won the Newfoundland Provincials in Lewisporte. During one of the playoff games, a penalty shot was made, and Travis executed an incredible save, which created pandemonium in the stadium and earned him player of the game. This was a proud moment that highlighted his athletic prowess and commitment to excellence.

He was an exceptionally hardworking individual, and his perseverance would serve as a guiding light for all who knew him, reminding them to strive for greatness and never give up on their dreams.

Travis is predeceased by his Dad, Joseph Downey, his Godmother Judy Lewis, and cousins Ambrose, Ashley, and Byron MacIsaac, who will welcome him with open arms in the afterlife.
