It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the family of the late Cecil William Parsons Sr. announces his peaceful passing on Thursday, September 4th, 2025, with his loving family by his side at Western Memorial Regional Hospital at the age of 78. Born in Rose Blanche, he was the son of the late James and Jessie (nee Hardy) Parsons.

Cecil leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, his loving wife of 55 of years, Dorothy (nee Thorne), his children, Cecil Parsons (Kelly Clarke), Leona (Henry) Coley and Colinda (James) Bourque, grandchildren, Ryan Billard (Angela), Cecilia (Steven) Taylor and Chelsea (Mathieu) LeBlanc, and great grandchildren, Layla, Aria and Jack. He also leaves to mourn his sister, Mildred Osmond, brother, Carl Parsons, stepbrother, Ivan (Mildred) Spencer, brother and sister-in-law, John (Wanda) Thorne, close and dearest friend Jackie Hardy, plus a large circle of nieces, nephews, friends and extended family,

Cecil was predeceased by his parents, father and mother-in-law, John Matthew an Irene Thorne, and granddaughter, Jeannie Parsons, brothers and sisters and brothers and sisters in laws.

Cecil was a very quiet man, who would chat with anyone. Anyone that knew him, knew he lived his life for his family.

In keeping with Cecil’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made graciously to the family.
