Marilyn Hatcher Obituary

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of the late Marilyn Hatcher announces her sudden passing on Wednesday, October 1st, at the age of 76. Born in Burnt Islands she was the daughter of the late Angus and Julia (nee Currie) Keeping.


Marilyn will be greatly missed by her only daughter, Julie (Rupert) Bond, granddaughters, Gwen (Ivan) Bryan and Kerri Bond (Francis O’Quinn), great grandchildren, Kerstin Osmond who was the sparkle of her eye, and Beau O’Quinn.


She also leaves to mourn with many precious memories, her brothers and sisters, Barbara (Melvin) Harris, Hubert Keeping (Pat George), Hickman (Nicole) Keeping, Arlene Keeping (Dennis Courtney), all of Burnt Islands, Maxine Keeping (Derm King) of Placentia Bay, Jim (Lorraine) Keeping of Calgary, AB, and Perry (Trudy) Keeping of Codroy Valley, her brothers and sisters in-law, Henry Baggs, Allan (Susie) Hatcher, Gordie (Ruth) Hatcher, Eric (Sheila) Hatcher, and Vivian Hatcher, as well as her best friend, Shirley Keeping, plus a large circle of nieces, nephews and extended family.


Marilyn was predeceased by her husband, Reginald Hatcher, sister, Grace Baggs, brother, Lorne (Sherry) Keeping, nephew, Jamie Keeping, who was like a son to her, brothers and sisters in-law, George Hatcher, Alex (Melita) Hatcher, Aggie (Albert) Ingram, and father and mother in-law, Reginald and Hattie Hatcher.


Family and friends may visit St. George’s Anglican Church in Burnt Islands, on Saturday, October 4th, from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 P.M. The funeral service will take place on Sunday, October 5th at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. John Billard officiating. Interment to follow at Hillside Haven Cemetery, Isle aux Morts Road. Flowers accepted, and donations in memory of Marilyn may be graciously made to St. Georges Church, or Dr. Charles L LeGrow Health Center.
