It is with great sadness that the family of the late Rose Frances Osmond announces her passing on Friday, October 3rd, 2025, with her loving family by her side at Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre at the age of 78. Born in Fox Island, she was the daughter of the late William and Susanna (nee Warren) Young.

Rose leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her daughters, Jacqueline MacDonald (Lawrence Short), Susan (Brian Pope) both of Port aux Basques, son, Glen Osmond, St. Andrew’s, pride and joy grandchildren, Brandon MacDonald (Hilary), April (Ryan Alian), Nathen Osmond, Nicolas Osmond (Luciana) and Jeremy Pope, great grandchildren, Hank and Kole MacDonald and Grace Alian.

She also leaves to mourn with many precious memories, her brothers and sisters, Arthur (Alice) Young, John Tom Young, Irene (Sandy) Bowles, George Young and, brothers and sisters-in-laws, Alexander Osmond, Chesley (Shirley) Osmond, Walter (Rachel) Osmond, Gerald (Marina) Osmond, Jane Young Mildred and Alice Osmond, friends, Jessie Ford, Billy Bennett, Jane LeBlanc and Rachel Hillard, and a large circle of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Rose was predeceased by her husband, Charlie Osmond, brothers, Claude and Sandy Young, sisters and brothers-in- laws, Thomas, Reg, Cecil and Ben Osmond, Geraldine Osmond, Annie and Lavinia Young, Betty, Una and Mary Osmond, granddaughter, Clarke Alian, son-in-law, Dave MacDonald.

The family wishes to give many thanks to her wonderful caregivers, Roberta, Janice, Corrina and Pauline, and the nurses and staff at Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre for the care and compassion shown to Rose.

In keeping with Rose’s wishes, cremation has taken place. The family will be receiving family and friends on Monday, October 6 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Oceanside Funeral Home, 23 Read Street. Interment to follow on Tuesday, October 7th for Rose and Charlie at St. James Anglican Cemetery, Barachois Hill, commencing with a funeral procession from Oceanside Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations in Rose’s memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
