It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of the late Eric Hatcher announces his sudden passing on Monday, December 8th at the age of 70. Born in Isle aux Morts, he was the son of the late Reginald and Hattie (nee Hiscock) Hatcher.

Eric leaves to mourn with precious and loving memories, his devoted wife of 46 years, Sheila (nee Courtney), his loving children, Darren Hatcher (Monica Priddle), Cavell (Jamie) Thorne and Shannon (Jenna) Hatcher, his 3 precious grandchildren who he thought the world of, Chloe Hatcher and Cameron and Carter Thorne.

He also leaves to mourn with many precious memories, his brothers, Gord (Ruth) Hatcher, and Allen (Susie) Hatcher, brothers and sisters in law, Vivian Hatcher, Dora Courtney, John Courtney, Kevin Courtney, Claude (Marlene) Courtney, Art Seymour, Marie (Dave) Thorne, Yvonne Keeping (Don Gillam), Denise (Anthony) Munden, Henry (Aderine) Courtney, Margaret Courtney (Ronnie Keeping), Dion Courtney, Meta (Jabez) Keeping, plus a large circle of nieces, nephews and extended family.

Eric loved his family the most and spending quality time with them. When he wasn’t with his family, Eric loved spending time outdoors, he enjoyed moose hunting, food fishery, trouting, and going back in the camp. He was always happy when there was music, beer, a good game of darts, and hockey night on Saturdays.

Eric was predeceased brothers and sister, Reginald (Marilyn) Hatcher, George Hatcher, Alex (Melita) Hatcher, Aggie (Albert) Ingram, mother and father in-law, James and Meta (Smurridge) Courtney, brothers and sisters in law, Gordon Keeping, Kathy (Allen) Procter, Lavina Seymour, Gideon Courtney, Wanda Courtney, and nephew Noland Munden.

Family and friends may visit Oceanside Funeral Home, 23 Read Street on, Thursday, December 11th from 7:00-9:00 p.m., cremation will follow. Funeral service will take place on Saturday, December 13th at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Spirit Anglican Church in Isle aux Morts, with Rev. Annie Rose officiating. Interment to follow at Hillside Haven Cemetery, Isle aux Morts. In lieu of flowers, donations may be graciously made to the family.
