It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of the late Catherine Baggs announces her passing on Monday, January 12th, 2026, at Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Center with her loving family by her side, at the age of 81. Born in Grey River she was the daughter of the late Henry and Elizabeth Lushman.
Catherine will be greatly missed by her children, Edward (Roxanne), Walter (Amanda), James (Brenda), Minnie (Rod) Munden, Sidney, and Mike (Tracy), grandchildren, James, Archie, Leeann, Paula, Stacey, Michael, Abigail, Catherine, Roderick, Tanya, Tonya, Coby, Andrew, Angela, Stacey (Jordon), 20 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson.
She also leaves to mourn, brothers, Henry (Gladys) Lushman, Patrick (Donna) Lushman, sisters Jacqueline (Norm) Young, Bernice (Harry) Wiseman, son-in-law Lloyd Hatcher plus a large circle of nieces, nephews and extended family.
Catherine was predeceased by her husband, Walter Baggs, daughter, Queenie Hatcher, daughter-in-law, Carol Ann Wells, sisters, Marjorie (Keith) MacDonald, and Minnie Young.
Family and friends may visit St. George’s Anglican Church in Burnt Islands, on Thursday, January 15th, from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 P.M. The funeral service will take place on Friday, January 16th at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Annie Rose and Rev. John Billard officiating. Interment to follow at Hillside Haven Cemetery, Isle aux Morts Road. Flowers are graciously accepted, or donations in memory of Catherine may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
