It is with great sadness that the family of the late Ruby Evelyn Francis announces her peaceful passing on Friday, January 23rd, 2026, with her loving husband by her side, at Dr. Charles L LeGrow Health Centre at the age of 76. Born in Port aux Basques, she was the daughter of the late Emmanuel and Julia (nee Strickland) Gillam.

Ruby leaves to mourn with many loving memories, her husband of 59 years, Harvey Francis, children, Sheldon Francis, Connie Francis, and granddaughter, Alexis. Ruby was the last surviving member of her immediate family, but will also be missed by brother-in-law, Clayton (Joan) Francis.

She was predeceased by son, Billy Francis, and brother, Albert (Rowena) Gillam.

A special thanks to Dr. Thomas, and all the nurses on the acute care unit of Dr. Charles L. LeGrow for the extraordinary care they had shown to Ruby.

In keeping with Ruby’s wishes cremation has taken place, and services will follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Ruby can be graciously made to the family.
