Barbara Porter Obituary
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of the late Barbara Porter announces her passing on Friday, January 30th, 2026, at Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Center with her loving family by her side, at the age of 73. Born in Rose Blanche, she was the daughter of the late Aubrey and Deborah (nee Caines) Herritt.
Barb will be greatly missed by her loving husband of 54 years, Lorne Porter, children, Colin Porter (Vanessa Anderson), Lori-Ann Porter (Scott Raymond), grandchildren, Sarah (Jason), Dillon, Jessica (Dylan), Jason (Sarah), Jeffrey (Paige), Jonathan (Crystal), Andrew (Carly), Brooklyn and Chloe, great-grandchildren, Olivia, Colton, Avery, Hudson, Aaron, Caleb, Ayden, and Levi.
She also leaves to mourn her brothers and sisters, Irene, Arthur (Linda), Wayne (Ida), Gilbert (Debbie), Bill, Emmanuel (Kim), Gary (Brenda), Florence, David (Diane), Charlie (Maisie), Robert (Amanda), Arthena (Scott), brother-in-law, Jeffrey (Daphne),special friend, Linda, plus a large circle of nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.
Barb was predeceased by her parents, Audrey and Deborah Herritt, and mother and father-in-law, Frank and Annie Porter.
Family and friends may visit Oceanside Funeral Home Sunday, February 1st from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 P.M., with family prayers beginning at 8:30 P.M., with Rev. John Billard officiating. Interment will take place at a later date. Flowers are graciously accepted, or donations in memory of Barb may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
