It is with great sadness that the family of the late Ivy Blanche Lawrence Herridge announces her passing on Thursday, February 26th, 2026, at the age of 80, with her loving family by her side. Born in Burgeo, she was the daughter of the late William and Sarah Lawrence.
Ivy will be greatly missed by her loving husband of 59 years, Ed, her children, Amanda (Darrell), Tom (Sherry), Ashley, Tammy (Gilbert), and Shawna, grandchildren, Brendon (Catherine), Tori (Mitchel), Brady (Rainie) and Peyton (Tanner).
She also leaves to mourn her brother, Kenny (Ruth) Lawrence, sisters in law, Ann Cumby, Doris Pittman, Elizabeth Hynes, Margaret Saint, Marcella (Ronald) Saint, Melita Lawrence, plus a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Ivy was predeceased by her baby son, Jonathan, brothers and sisters, Joe (Vera) Lawrence, Jack Lawrence, May (Douglas) Hiscock, Rita (Freeman) Francis, Mary Jane (Leslie) Harvey, and Victor Lawrence, as well as brothers and sisters in law, Russell (Cora) Herridge, Eva (Harold) Bolger, Cyril (Kathleen) Herridge, Arthur (Marilyn) Herridge, Russell Pittman, Steven Hynes, and Charles Saint.
She lived her life in a way that constantly reflected her selflessness. Putting others before herself was never something she had to consider. It was simply who she was. She gave her time, her energy, and her heart without hesitation, always making sure everyone else was okay before ever worrying about her own needs. Whether it was through quiet sacrifices no one saw or thoughtful gestures that meant everything, she carried the people she loved at the center of her world. Her generous spirit created a loving home for her family that she loved and cherished. Her legacy will never fade.
Ivy welcomed everybody into her home with a loving smile, open arms, a warm hug, and a kiss. On her behalf, tell your friends, family, and those that you are closest with that you love them. Make sure that they know how much you appreciate them and how special they are to you. Spending time with your loved ones is a gift and a privilege - Ivy assured that those closest to her remembered this. We will continue to pass this message along in her memory and ask those closest to her that they do the same.
Family and friends may visit Holy Spirit Anglican Church on Sunday, March 1st, from 2:00-4:00 P.M. and 7:00-9:00 P.M.
