It is with heavy hearts and deep sorrow that we share the passing of Sharon Sheaves of Port aux Basques, NL on March 13, 2026 at the age of 69 years.

Sharon will be lovingly remembered by her husband Wayne. Her children, Sara (Damian Ford) and son Lukas (Tyler Elcombe). Her two precious grandchildren, Cally and Carter, and her three fur grandchildren, Maisy, Levi and Rubi. Brothers, John Carter (Elvena), Daniel Carter (Tina), Mary Carroll, Joan Morris (Calvin), and Diane Osmond (Jeff). Brothers and sisters-in-law , Dinah Carter, Diane Greene (Clayton), and Greg Sheaves (Mary LeFrense); as well as many friends. She also leaves to mourn a large circle of beloved cousins, nieces and nephews, friends and her care worker Jennifer Hayward.

She dedicated 30 years to the bank of Nova Scotia, where the friendships she built made her co-workers feel like family. Even after her health began to take much from her far too early, she remained steadfast - continuing to look after Wayne and thoughtfully manage their finances well into the later stages of her journey, a reflection of her strength, loyalty, and love.

Sharon was predeceased by her parents, George and Dorothy Carter, brothers, George and Eric, grandmother Emma, mother and father-in-law Edward and Pricilla Sheaves, Sister-in-law Suzanne LeFrense and brother in-law Alvin Carroll.

In keeping with Sharon’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, March 29, 2026 1:00-3:00 p.m. at the Fort McMurray Golf Club, 1 Real Martin Drive.

Family and friends are welcome to visit Oceanside Funeral Home in Port aux Basques, NL, Monday, April 6, 2026 from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 P.M. A celebration of Sharon’s Life will take place on April 7, 2026 at 1 PM at Wesley United Church, Port aux Basques, NL. officiated by Joan Chaisson. Inurnment will follow at Wesley United Church Cemetery with luncheon at the United Church Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations in Sharon’s memory can be made to Wesley United Church.
