It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of the late Violet Patricia Taylor announces her peaceful passing at Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Long Term Care on Sunday, March 22, 2026, at the age of 100 years and 6 months, with her loving family by her side. Born in West Point, NL, Violet was the daughter of the late Henry and Esther Strickland.

Violet leaves to mourn with many loving memories her daughters, Evelyn Neil, Audrey Organ, Joan Mauger (Philip Bond), Dorothy Francis, Golda (George) Walters, Judy Mauger (Carl Bennett), and Debbie (Jimmy) Stagg, 20 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and 22 great great grandchildren, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Special thanks to the nurses and staff of Dr. Charles Legrow Health Center for the exceptional care given to our mom, especially nurses, Crystal and Krissy, and Dr. Blecher.

Violet was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Percy, her sons, Jimmy and Wilson, grandchildren, Dave Neil and Ronnie Mercure, great grandchildren, Gregory Francis and Justin Francis, son in laws Gerald Organ and Calvin Francis, plus a large circle of brothers, sisters, in-laws, and extended family.

Family and friends may visit Oceanside Funeral Home, on Wednesday, March 25th, from 7:00-9:00 P.M, and Thursday, March 26th from 2:00-4:00 P.M. & 7:00-9:00 P.M. Funeral Service will take place on Friday, March 27th, 2026 at 2 PM at Wesley United Church, officiated by Joan Chaisson. Burial will follow at Wesley United Cemetery. Flowers accepted, or donations in memory of Violet may be made to Wesley United Church.
