It is with great sadness that the family of the late Rita Mae Skinner announces her passing on Monday, March 30th, 2026, at Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Center with her loving family by her side, at the age of 74. Born in Parsons Harbour, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Melita (Nee Symes) Green.

Rita will be greatly missed by her loving husband of 58 years, Allan Skinner, children, Darlene Skinner (Graham Short), Josephine Skinner, and Joseph Skinner, grandchildren, Tonya, Dylan, Brady, Jacob, Joey, Niki, Summer, and 3 great-grandchildren.

She also leaves to mourn her brothers and sisters, Joan (Clayton) Durnford, Jean (Sidney) Young, Edna (Gerald) Savoury, Jim (Viola) Green, Edith (Lloyd) Ford, Shirley (Dan) Sheaves, Ann Green, sister-in-law, Sharon Green, and special friend Leona Kendall, plus a large circle of nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.

Rita was predeceased by her daughter, Donna, son, Keith, brothers, Alex Green and Roy Green, baby sister Ada Blanche, brothers and sisters in law, Thomas Skinner, Clarence (Ruby) Skinner, Myrtle (George) Childs, Janet (George) Petite, Gerald Skinner, and mothers and father in law, Snook and Elizabeth (nee Poole) Skinner.

Special thanks to the staff of Long Term Care for their exceptional care shown to our mom over the years.

In keeping with Rita’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Rita may be made to the Long Term Care Unit of Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Center.
