Calvin Croucher Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that the family of the late Calvin Croucher announces his passing on Friday, April 10th, 2026, at the age of 75 after a courageous 20-year battle with cancer at Dr. Charles LeGrow Health Centre. Born in Burnt Islands, Calvin was the son of the late Alice and Ralph Croucher.
Calvin leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, his wife of 51 years Beverly, his son, Shawn (Vicki), his grandsons, Kyle (Carly), Kalen, and great grandson Riley, all of whom had a special place in his heart.
Also left to mourn, sister, Evelyn, brothers, Max, Montford, Tony, sister-in-law, Sheila, mother in law, Ethel, brothers and sisters in law, Claudine (Bill), Alvin (Coreen) Darlene (Greg), Cynthia (Norton), Janice (Keith), Darryl, Denise (Johnny), Roslyn (Darrell), Woody (Evelyn), and Melton (Wanda), a large circle of nieces & nephews, family, and a few special friends from his sailing days.
Calvin was predeceased by his brother, Ralph Jr., brother-in-law, Austin, sisters-in-law, Winnifred, Daphne, and father-in-law, Angus W. Keeping.
Calvin left home at a young age to begin a Seafarers career. Initially sailing in the arctic waters, later he spent decades working on the Great Lakes.
Calvin enjoyed spending time at the cabin with his wife, Beverly, which he decorated with model boats and souvenirs. He always enjoyed having visitors, and his cabin friends would visit often. Each summer was spent taking part in the recreational cod fishery, and being accompanied by his family, especially his brother Max, who spent many days with him.
Calvin loved his family dearly. His grandsons, Kyle, Kalen, and great-grandson Riley held a special place in his life.
We would like to thank the staff at Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Center, staff at Western Health, and Oceanside Funeral Home.
