Albert Walters Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Albert Walters announces his peaceful passing on Tuesday, May 6, 2026, at Dr. Charles L LeGrow Health Centre, at the age of 80. Born in Port aux Basques, Albert was the son of the late Howard and Annie (nee Musseau) Walters.
Albert leaves behind his wife of 57 years, Jean, and his daughters, Wendy (Anna) and Holly (Stephanie). He also leaves two step-grandchildren, Archer and Levi, who will miss his jokes. He will also be missed by his special buddy (great nephew) Josh Seymour.
He is survived by his brothers, Frank (Linda) Walters and Arthur (Barbara) Walters; his brothers-in-law, Alexander Junior Bateman (Sheila) and Melvin (Edwina) Bateman; and his sister-in-law, Hazel Frampton. He will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, plus many friends and extended family.
Albert was predeceased by his parents, Annie (Musseau) Walters and Howard Walters; his brother, Curtis Walters; his brothers-in-law, Albert Bateman, William Frampton, and Nelson Sheaves; and his sisters-in-law, Evelyn Sheaves and Mary Bateman.
Albert was a true character. He liked to tinker in his workshop, building boats and other creations inspired by YouTube. He enjoyed fishing, listening to old-time country music, watching movies, and having a yarn down on the wharf. He will be remembered for his generosity and sense of humour. Albert had a soft spot for all animals, especially his cats, Missy and Dashy, and his dog, Casey.
The family would like to thank and extend gratitude for the exceptional care he received on the acute care unit at the hospital. Every member of his care team went above and beyond to ensure his comfort and dignity.
As per Albert’s wishes, there will be no visitation or service. In his memory, you can offer a small act of kindness to someone who needs a hand or make a donation to the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Healthcare Foundation towards the CT Scanner Fundraising Project. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Oceanside Funeral Home, 23 Read Street, Port aux Basques.
