It is with great sadness that the family of the late Joseph Henry Baggs announces his peaceful passing on Saturday, May 16th, 2026, at Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Center, at the age of 76. Born in Isle aux Morts, he was the son of the late John and Amy (nee Coley) Baggs.

Joe will be missed by sisters, Tellie (Freeman) Bennett, Wanda (John) Thorne, special friend, Joan Mauger, nieces, Amy Bennett, Michelle (Leon) Bunter, nephews, Jonathan (Joanna) Thorne, Matthew (Christa) Thorne, and Richard Hodder.

He was predeceased by his parents, John and Amy Baggs, sister, Annie Hodder, brother, Herman Baggs and niece Irma Hankinson.

In keeping with Joe’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Family and friends may visit Oceanside Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 19th from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m., with a prayer service beginning at 8:45 for all those who would like to attend. A graveside service will take place Wednesday, May 20th, at 11:00 a.m. at St. James Anglican Cemetery, Barachois Hill. In lieu of flowers, donations made in memory to Joe can be graciously made to Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Center or to a charity of one’s choice.
