It is with great sadness that the family of the late Edward Stephen Farrell announces his passing on Thursday, May 21st, 2026, at Dr. Charles L LeGrow Health Centre in Port aux Basques, at the age of 78. Born in O’Regans he was the son of the late John and Ann Farrell.

Ed leaves to mourn with many fond and loving memories, his common law partner of 23 years, Jean Henry (Geraldine, nee Smith). He will also be dearly missed by son, David, daughters, Marianne, Kala (Kelly Gillespie) and Kathy Blumhagen. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild.

He will also be missed by brothers, Brian and Stan (Patricia), sisters, Millie, Nellie, (Robert Orr) and Patricia (David Butt), and sisters in law, Bessie and Karen.

Ed was predeceased by his parents, John & Ann Farrell, brothers, Michael and John.

The family would like to thank Dr. Thomas, the chemo nurses, and all the nursing staff at the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Center in Port aux Basques for the kindness and compassion you provided to Ed.

Ed will be fondly remembered for his dedication to his family, his quick wit, and strong will. He enjoyed dancing, playing cards and fishing. He will be missed by all who were fortunate to know and love him.

In keeping with Ed’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no formal services will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Ed can be graciously made to Dr. Charles L.
