It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of the late Robert Cecil Anderson announce his peaceful passing at the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre in Port aux Basques on Sunday, June 7th, 2026, at the age of 64. Born in Port aux Basques, Robert was the son of the late Walter and Geraldine Anderson.

He leaves to mourn with fond and precious memories, his loving daughter Chantell (Justin) Roberts, stepdaughter, Christina Osmond, sister, Pauline (Jerome) Battiste, brothers, Johnny Anderson, David (Jeannie) Anderson, Todd Anderson, and Andy Anderson, his home care workers and close friends, Susan Osmond and Michelle Coley, his 3 cats, whom he adored, Pumpkin, Ginger, and Lucy, and his grandcat Potato. He will also be sadly missed by extended family and many friends.

Robert was a wonderful man, and he had a huge part in many people’s childhoods. He was a man whose heart was so full of love and joy that he opened his home, cupboards & fridge, it was an anyone’s welcome kind of place. He welcomed people by the handfuls to have a safe place to just exist. So many people that he gave everyone a nickname so he could try to remember them all. It didn’t matter your story, where you came from, or who you belonged to, Robbie loved everyone all the same with open arms and a warm smile. At times he gave some a place to eat, sleep, shower, a dry place to get out of the rain, he was truly a community dad for everyone. He was an incredible man, and he left a lasting impression on everyone he met. There will never be another Robbie.

Robert was predeceased by his brothers, Teddy, Harold, Melvin, and Wilfred Anderson, and niece Amanda Battiste.

Family and friends may visit Oceanside Funeral Home, on Tuesday, June 9th, from 2:00-4:00 & 7:00 -9:00 p.m. A graveside service will take place on Wednesday, June 10th, 2026, at 3:00 PM at Wesley United Cemetery officiated by Joan Chaisson.
