It is with deep sadness and broken hearts that the family of the late Kelly Strickland announces her passing on Friday, June 12th, 2026, at Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Center, at the age of 44, with her loving family by her side. Born in Port aux Basques, Kelly was the daughter of Bertha (Melvin) Chaulk and the late James Strickland.

Kelly leaves to mourn with many fond and loving memories, her children, Kane Patey and Blaze Strickland, her mother, Bertha (Melvin), brother, Jamie (Miranda), sister, Roxanne (Stacy), step-brother, Yuron Chaulk (Negar), step-sister, Tara Lee Chaulk, nieces, Alyssa, Bella, nephew, Jackson.

She will also be sadly missed by close friends Lisa Pond, Krystal Hollett, Melissa Carter, Clyde and Cindy Billard, plus a large circle of aunts, uncles, extended family and friends.

The family would like to send special thanks to all the doctors, nurses, and other staff at Dr. Charles L LeGrow Health Center for all of their compassion and amazing care shown to Kelly during her time there, as well as to her homecare support workers, and Rev. Jane Allen.

Kelly was predeceased by her father, Jim Strickland, grandparents Max and Hilda Strickland, Bertram and Annie Stagg, plus members of her extended family.

Family and friends may visit Oceanside Funeral Home on Sunday, June 14th, from 2:00-4:00 P.M. and 7:00-9:00 P.M. The funeral service will take place on Monday, June 15th, at 2:00 p.m. from Wesley United Church with Rev. Jane Allen officiating. In keeping with Kelly's wishes, cremation will follow and interment at a later date. Flowers are accepted, or donations in memory of Kelly can be graciously made to the family.
