It is with heavy hearts that the family of the late Melvin Emanuel White announces his peaceful passing on Sunday, June 21st, 2026, at Dr. Charles L LeGrow Health Centre at the age of 75, with his loving family by his side. Born in Port aux Basques, he was the son of the late Walter and Phoebe White.

Melvin will be forever missed by his sons, Kevin (Karen) and Kenny (Kim) Sweet daughter, Phoebe (Roy) Standing, granddaughters, Jordyn and Addison White, grandsons, Cody (Tori) Standing, Kyle (Shelby) Standing, and great grandchildren, Eenie and Aspen.

He also leaves to mourn his brothers and sisters, Alice White, Josie (Howard) Young, Florence (Seaward) Carroll, Rosine White, Will White, Gary (Elsie) White , Wayne (Beverly) White, Jeff White, Rick (Nina) White, Valerie (Dennis) White, Debbie (Mike) Bollion, Lynn (Ray) White, Raylene (Ephie) Skinner, sister in law, Sharon White, and brothers in law, Vernon Jeans, Paul Veaudry, special family friends, Travis (Samatha) Chant, Shannon Hardy, and Krystle Hill, plus a large circle of brothers and sisters in laws, nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.

Melvin was predeceased by his loving wife, Linda, brother, Albert White, and sisters, Nancy Jeans and Norma White, and sister in law, Elaine White.

The family will be receiving family and friends on Monday, June 22nd, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m., at Oceanside Funeral Home, 23 Read Street, Port aux Basques. A funeral procession will begin from Oceanside Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 23rd, at 10:30 a.m. and proceed to St. James Anglican Cemetery, Barachois Hill, where a Graveside service will be held, with Rev. Kuda officiating. Flowers accepted or donations in memory of Melvin may be made graciously to a charity of one’s choice.
