It is with profound sadness that the family of Marilyn Harvey (nee Coleman), age 75, announce her passing, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, kindness, and community spirit. Born and raised in Isle aux Morts, Newfoundland, Marilyn was the daughter of the late Churchill and Meta Coleman.

Leaving to mourn with cherished memories is her devoted husband of 56 years, Henry “Tommy” Harvey. Together they built a life rooted in love, commitment, and family.

Marilyn was a proud and loving mother to her son, Boyd Harvey (Annette), and daughters, Rosina Harvey-Keeping (Curtis) and Courteney Cutknife (Dominic). She was a constant source of love, encouragement, and unwavering support, celebrating every milestone, and always putting the needs of her family before her own.

Her greatest joy in life was her four grandchildren, who were truly the light of her life: Taylor Harvey (Alexi), Kaitlyn Harvey, Cole Keeping, and Clark Cutknife. She treasured every moment spent with them, whether in Newfoundland or Alberta, creating memories that will be cherished forever. She took immense pride in each of their unique personalities and accomplishments, delighting in every visit, phone call, and special occasion.

Marilyn will also be deeply missed by her brothers and sisters: Kevin (Elsie) Coleman, Rose Collier, Tom (Mary) Coleman, Clifford Coleman, Ed Coleman, Donnie (Paula) Coleman, Norma (Don) Piercey, Francis Lawrence, Darryl (Kathryn) Coleman, Elsie (Rick) Coleman, Junior (Deborah) Harvey, Eileen (Dana) King, Susie (Allen) Hatcher, Vince Harvey, Norma (Dean) Lawrence, Doreen (Deon) Harvey, Marilyn (Paul) Crowell, and Joy (Jason) Kane, as well as a large circle of nieces and nephews. Marilyn was close to her lifelong friend Joan Hansford and sister in law Susie Hatcher, who walked beside her every step of the way during her cancer journey. Marilyn will especially be missed by her church friends, bingo friends, and card friends.

Marilyn’s faith was the foundation of her life. She was a faithful and dedicated member of Holy Spirit Anglican Church, where she found great joy in worship and fellowship. She was an active member of the church choir and the Anglican Church Women (A.C.W.), always willing to lend her voice, her time, and her caring heart wherever it was needed.

Beyond her church involvement, Marilyn was passionate about preserving and celebrating her community’s history through her work with the Heritage Society. She believed deeply in the value of community and devoted countless hours to supporting local events, causes, and initiatives. She loved welcoming family, friends, neighbours, and visitors into her home, wanting nothing more than for everyone to enjoy all that her little home and community had to offer.

Marilyn will be remembered for her generous spirit, unwavering faith, and her ability to make everyone feel welcome and loved. Her life was a beautiful example of service, compassion, and devotion to family and community.

Though her presence will be profoundly missed, the memories she created and the love she shared will remain forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Marilyn was predeceased by her parents-in-law, Leander and Elizabeth Harvey; brothers-in-law Wayne Harvey, Donald Durnford, Winston Lawrence, and Edmund Collier; and sisters-in-law Annie Durnford, Rose Harvey, Mary Harvey, Tina Harvey, Gloria Coleman, and Ruth Coleman.

In keeping with Marilyns wishes, cremation has taken place. Family and friends may visit the Holy Spirit Anglican Church in Isle aux Morts on Monday, July 6th from 2:00 -4:00and 7:00-9:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 7th, at 2:00 p.m. officiated by Rev. Annie Rose, with interment to follow at Hillside Haven Cemetery. Donations in Memory of Marilyn can be made to the Holy Spirit Anglican Church or charity of one’s choice.
