It is with great sadness that the family of Louise Mary Keeping (nee Billard) announces her sudden passing on Wednesday, December 15, 2021, at the age of 66 with her loving family by her side. Born in Isle aux Morts, she was the daughter of the late Solomon and Susanna Billard. She will be sadly missed and never forgotten by her husband Henry, of 48 years, her daughters Clara Keeping (Jonathan Warren), and Vanessa (Randy) Chant; grandchildren, Steven, Cody, Danielle, Jaden, and Julia. Louise also leaves to mourn her brothers, sisters, and in-laws, Wilson (Norma Lilly), Earl (Pauline)Billard, Stacey (John) Hardy, Miram (George) Hatcher, Margaret (Blanford) Keeping, Vivian Hatcher, Jerry (Neita) Billard, Jeanette Billard, Christopher Billard, Clyde (Valina) Billard, Darryl (Amanda) Billard, Solomon (Maggie) Billard, Fred (Alice) Francis, Evelyn Keeping, Kelly (Betty) Keeping, Sheila Keeping, Ethel Keeping, Dorothy (Jake) Prioulix, Vivian(George) Walters, and a large circle of nieces, nephews and a large circle of friends. Louise was predeceased by brothers, George, John T, and Ivan Billard, sister, Caroline, brother and sisters-in-laws, George Hatcher, Austin Keeping, Edward Keeping and Clarence Keeping, and Susie (Alexander) Organ.

The family will be receiving family and friends on Friday, December 17 from 2:00 to 4:00pm and 7:00-9:00pm at Oceanside Funeral Home, 23 Read Street, Port aux Basques. Funeral service will take place on Saturday, December 18 at 2:00 p.m. from St. George’s Anglican Church in Burnt Islands, with Rev. Dianna Fry officiating. Interment to follow at Hillside Haven Cemetery, Isle aux Morts Road. Please note that in accordance with provincial regulations, proof of Covid-19 vaccination and mask will be needed to enter for visitation and the funeral service.
