It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of the late Marie Dominie announces her sudden but peaceful passing at Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre on Monday, January 31, 2022, at the age of 85, surrounded by her loving family. Born in the Codroy Valley, she was the daughter of the late Isaac and Ethel (nee Collier) Fiander. Marie leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her children, Cindy Shipley, Port aux Basques, Joanne (John) Whelan, Whitbourne, NL, Rex (Paula) Dominie, Port aux Basques, Daniel Dominie, Codroy Valley, grandchildren; Candace Shipley, Michaela Dominie, Hannah Dominie, Alexander Dominie, and Jenna Dominie , great grandchildren Grayson and Olivia Young. She also leaves to mourn her brother, Ralph (Marion) Fiander, sister-in-law, Adeline Fiander and a large circle of brothers and sisters in law, nieces, nephews, and close friends. Marie was predeceased by her husband Jack, brothers and sisters in law, George (Katherine) Fiander, Jack (Inez) Fiander, Vincent Fiander, Hilda (George) Kendall, Ruth (Corbin) Cooper, Vera (Charles) Kendall, Elizabeth (Pleamon) Stockley, and Dorothy Fiander. Visitation will take place on Thursday February 3, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Oceanside Funeral Home, 23 Read Street, Port aux Basques. Funeral service will be held on Friday, February 4 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Church, Codroy, by invitation only due to the current level of Covid-19 with Rev. Faye Coffin officiating. Please note that in accordance with provincial regulations, proof of Covid-19 vaccination and mask will be needed to enter for visitation and the funeral service. Interment to follow at Holy Trinity Cemetery, Codroy, NL. Flowers graciously accepted or donations in Marie’s memory may be made to Dr Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre.
