Obituary of Theresa Janet Francis

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Theresa Janet Francis announces her passing at Western Memorial Regional Hospital at the age of 84. Born in Cul de Sac, NL, Theresa was the daughter of the late Abraham and Ester (Durnford) Skinner. Theresa leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her daughters, Judy (Dave) LeRiche, Donna (Carl) Osmond, son, Bert (Alma) Francis, brothers, Sam (Sharon) Skinner, and Fred (Pauline) Skinner, in-laws, Ozzie Francis and Dot Cross, grandchildren, Teshia (Simon) Llewellyn, Janet (Warren) Willis, Kelly (Ben) Francis, Christopher Osmond, Curtis LeRiche, Scott (Natasha) Osmond, Sam Francis, Michael (Heather) Osmond, Rebecca (Billy) Osmond, and Daniel Osmond, her 9 great-grandchildren, and a large circle of nieces, nephews and many close friends. Theresa is predeceased by her husband, Clarence Francis, daughters Dorothy and Lillian, her twin sister, Maggie Battiste, sisters, Eva Dollimount, and Myrtle MacDonald, brothers, George Skinner, Melvin Skinner, and Roy Skinner, in-laws, Margaret Ongo, Regis Rose, Arthur Francis, and Walter Francis. In keeping with Theresa’s wishes, cremation has taken place. The family will be receiving family and friends on Tuesday, February 8 from 2:00-4:00 p.m at Oceanside Funeral Home, 23 Read Street, Port aux Basques. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 9 at 2:00 p.m at St. James Anglican Church with Rev. Jane Allen officiating. Interment to follow at St. James Anglican Cemetery, Barachois Hill. Please note that in accordance with provincial regulations, proof of Covid-19 vaccination and mask will be needed to enter for visitation and the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Salvation Army or a charity of one’s choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Oceanside Funeral Home.
