Obituary of Barry Pope

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Barry Pope announces his sudden passing on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Channel Port -Aux-Basques, he was the son of Mary (nee Myles) Pope and the late Corwin Pope. Barry will be sadly missed and never forgotten by his loving wife, Daisy (nee King) of 47 years; his daughter, Colleen (Derek) Hatcher, son, Jeremy (Leeann) Pope, his grandchildren, Jordin, Colby and Kacie. Also left to mourn: mother, Mary, brothers, Bub (Liz) Pope, Lloyd (Gaynia) Pope, Dwayne (Roxanne) Pope; sisters, Marilyn (Reuben) Pope, Cathy (Ted) Dale, and Cynthia Pope, brothers and sisters in-laws, Gertie Scott, Sally King, Wilfred (Sandra) King, Vera MacLean, Claude (Ann) King, Thomas (Anne)King, Gus (Sandra) King and Leslie (Della) King. Barry was predeceased by his father, Corwin Pope, sister and brothers-in-law, Sherry Clarice (Lorne) Keeping, Thomas Scott, Roland King and Kenneth MacLean, mother and father in law, Thomas and Pearl King. The family will receive visitors at Oceanside Funeral Home, 23 Read Street, Port-aux-Basques, on Saturday, April 16 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. In keeping with Barry’s wishes cremation to follow and no funeral service will be held.
