Please share a memory of Margo to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Margaret Ruth “Margo” Hayman announces her peaceful passing on Wednesday July 27, 2022, with her loving daughter, Kayla by her side at Dr. Charles LeGrow Health Centre in Port Aux Basques at the age of 80 years. Born in Grand Bruit, Margo was the daughter of the late Albert and Clara Munden (nee Billard). A loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt, Margo leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, her children, Kimberly (Conrad) Petrikowski, Dartmouth; Arlene (Dan) DeGaust, Hubbards; Vaughn (Annette) Hayman, St. John’s; and Kayla Hayman, Port aux Basques; grandchildren, Kyle, Kristen, Elyse, Nicolas, and Liam; great-grandchildren, Jack and Charlotte; sisters and brother, Audrey (Len) Crewe, Elsie (Fred) Keeping, Linda (Allan) Cave, Sandra (Gus) King, and Bert (Eleanor) Munden; brothers-in-law, Walter (Minnie) Hayman and Rex Hayman; and a large circle of nieces, nephews, and friends. Margo is predeceased by her husband, George, daughter, Linda, Baby Boy George, brother, Louis Munden, sister, Mabel Ferguson, mother and father-in-law, Alvina and Walter Hayman, brother and sister-in-law Wilfred and Georgina Hayman and brother-in-law Hughie. Margo was a well loved figure in the community most notably for being a cashier at Coleman’s for many years. She also enjoyed attending community events or lending a helping hand when she could. She always tried to stay active walking with friends, shooting darts, bowling, playing cards and bingo. She was happiest when she was with her family and friends. She was an avid knitter; her slippers have warmed the toes of so many. She was also a skilled cook and baker and always had a delicious homemade treat waiting for anyone who came to visit. Margo was the foundation of our family and will be sorrowfully missed. Margo’s family would like to thank Marie Thomas for her years of close friendship and support. In keeping with Margo’s wishes cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place Sunday, July 31 at 2:00-4:00 pm and 6:00-8:00 pm at Oceanside Funeral Home, 23 Read Street, Port-aux-Basques. The funeral service will take place at St. James Anglican Church in Port-aux-Basques on Monday, August 1 at 11:00 am with Rev. Jane Allen officiating, with interment to follow at St. James Anglican Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Margo’s memory may be made to St. James Anglican Church. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Oceanside Funeral Home. Words of comfort may be sent to the family by visiting www.oceansidefh.ca. Forever In Our Hearts
