It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we, the family of the late Lena Jane Savery announce the passing of our beautiful mother and grandmother, on Monday August 8th, 2022, at the age of 61. Born in Port aux Basques, Lena was the daughter of Mable Savery (nee Chant) and the late Carl Savery.

Lena leaves to mourn with fond and precious memories, her sons; Chris Savery (Melicia), Darryl Ashford (Terrilynn), and Bradley Ashford (Natasha), grandchildren; Holly (Jamie), Cassidy, Jailynn, Logan, Lily, Sky, and Hailey.

She also leaves to mourn her brothers and sisters; Carlann (Frank) Short, Michael (Shirley) Savery, and Terry (Geraldine) Savery, special niece Zoey, and a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

Lena was predeceased by her loving spouse of 30+ years, Lew Lomond, her father, Carl Savery, mother and father-in-law, Edward and Rosina Kendall (nee Lomond), brothers-in-law Clifford (JJ) Kendall, Freeman Lomond, and sister-in-law Sherry Kendall.

Visitation will take place Wednesday, August 10th from 2:00-4:00 p.m and 7:00-9:00 p.m at Oceanside Funeral Home, 23 Read Street, Port-aux-Basques. The funeral service will take place at St. James Anglican Church in Port-aux-Basques on Thursday, August 11th at 3:00 p.m with Rev. Jane Allen officiating. In keeping with Lena’s wishes, internment to follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Lena’s memory may be made to the family.
