Ken Spencer Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Kenneth Stephen Spencer announce his passing on Wednesday, April 19th, 2023 at the age of 75 at Western Memorial Regional Hospital surrounded by the love of his family.

Born in Port aux Basques, Ken was the son of the late, Stephen and Greta Spencer. A dedicated husband, father and grandfather, a true family man . A man that we loved with all our hearts.

He enjoyed a long career with NewTel, working alongside Paula and “the boys''. He retired in 2002 and often joined them for a chat on their coffee breaks. Friendships he held dear and a career he was certainly proud of.

Forever whistling a tune, laughing that hearty laugh and oh how he loved to carry on, especially with the kids when they were young.

A man who needed to be busy, he was always there to lend a helping hand, never late for anything . In his younger days he loved his floor hockey on Monday nights, spending time in his shed, fishing trips with Norm and being everyone's "Mr.Fix It".

The last few years he has “ stopped to smell the roses “ more and spent many hours and walked many miles with Mabel, with chats and laughs and a big wave and smile to his friends along the way.

He was a man of few words but "love you" came real easy .

We have so many special memories and we will keep them close to our hearts, where he will always be.

Ken will be forever missed and loved by his wife and soulmate of 54 years, Mabel. The absolute best dad to Kelly (David) Penney, Kim Spencer (Kenny Sweet), and Richard (Danielle) Spencer. He truly loved and enjoyed his grandchildren Luke, Alexander, Leah, Sam, and Harlie.

Ken will be sadly missed by his brothers and sisters, Dorothy Osmond, Kathleen (George) Critchell, Lewis (Margo) Spencer, Linda (Kevin) Melbourne, Robert (Paula) Spencer, brothers and sisters in law, Gord Feltham, Jeanne Olson, Shirley (Marion) Gammill, David (Glenda) Feltham, Anne Feltham, and Thelma McEvoy.

Ken was predeceased by brothers and sisters in law, Harry Osmond, Sharon Feltham, Jan Olson, George and Vikki Feltham, Richard Feltham, great niece, Morgan, mother and father in law, Alexander and Dorcas Feltham, parents, Stephen and Greta Spencer, and grandparents, Alice and Louis Savery.
