It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of the late Norman Strickland announces his passing on Monday, June 19, 2023, with his loving family by his side at Dr. Charles LeGrow Health Centre in Port aux Basques at the age of 70 years. Born in North Bay, Norman was the son of the late Max and Hilda Strickland. Norman leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife of 50 years, Myrtle Strickland, his son, Harold and daughter Kim Strickland (Jason Currah), grandson, Storm Payne(Becky). Norman also leaves to mourn his sister, Ruby (Chris) Clare and sisters-in-law, Bertha (Melvin) Chaulk, Gladys Strickland (James), Joyce Stagg, brothers-in-law, Steve (Bonita) Stagg, Jimmy (Debbie) Stagg and Fred (Barbara) Smith, plus a large circle of nieces, nephews and friends. Norman was predeceased by brothers, Andrew and Jim Strickland and sister, May (Ches) Francis. Family and friends may visit Oceanside Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 21st from 2:00 -4:00 & 7:00 -9:00 P.M, with cremation to follow. A private family service will be held. Flowers graciously accepted or donations in memory of Norman can be made graciously to the family. Words of comfort may be sent to the family by visiting www.oceansidefh.ca.
