The last words of Ross Walters, 1964-2023
"Fifty eight years may not seem long, but damn it was good."
I grew up in Isle aux Mort, Newfoundland and had the best parents Norman and Melita Walters (deceased).
It wasn't a big family by Newfoundland standards, but Fabian (Nancy), Jerome (Shirley), Kerry (Michelle), Deon, and I had a lot of laughs, support and a lifetime of memories and a ton of stories to share.
To my wife, Angie, it may not have been a long marriage but the 17 years spent together had more ups for a lifetime.
To my children, Melita, Daniel and Rossalynn, you were the joy of my life and I always had your best interest at heart.
I was born on the water and I worked on the water. My 8 years in the Navy and 35 years with DND have provided me with the greatest experiences and the best of friendships. B'ys, I always looked forward to getting my moose, with the best Isle aux Morters ever. We certainly enjoyed ourselves at the camp and just being together.
I want to express my gratitude to Ken, Theresa, Cecil and Ruth for being there for me and Angie. We have definitely had some good times and conversations.
Angie will be bringing me home to Isle aux Mort and I was never one for attention so I will be inviting everyone to join Angie in having a drink at Barry's to celebrate our long lasting friendships.
Love you all and see you on the other side.
