Obituary of Maxwell Francis Evans

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of the late Maxwell Francis Evans announces his passing at the Dr. Charles LeGrow Health Centre on Saturday July 13, 2019 at the age of 78.  Born on Fox Island, NL, Maxwell was the son of the late Allan and Winnifred (nee Hayman) Evans. He was predeceased by his father and mother-in-law Joseph and Lorenia (nee Walters) Billard; sisters, Geraldine and Sherry; brothers-in law, Wilfred Hayman, John Billard, Allison Skeard, and Seward Lawrence.  

He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, his devoted wife of 60 years Shirley (nee Billard) Evans, and his eleven children: Glen (Nancy) of Coal Harbour, NS, Percy (Maisie), Godfrey (Angela), Madonna (Brad), Caulette (Shawn) all of Isle aux Morte, Corenna (Phil) of Mount Pearl, NL, Junior(Tanya), Amanda(Archie), Jeannette (Sean) all of Port Aux Basques, Jonathan (Michelle) of Lloydminster, AB and Melanie (Bernard) of Belleville, ON. Grandchildren: Monica, Waylon, Glenda, Nikita, Myles, Chelsea, Chynna, Jamie, Sarah, David, Jordan, Luke, Olivia, Brodee, Christina, and Madison. Great-grandchildren: Ethan, Evan, Dagan, Bentley, Kaysen, Callie, Daxson, Charlotte and Michael.  He also leaves to mourn his brother Jack (Sandra); brothers-in-law Lynn, Percy (Harriet), Joe (Shirley), Calvin (Roxanne), Blanford (Doreen), sisters; Nola (Tom) and Dale and sisters-in-law; Martha and Georgina and his special Aunt Alice of Liverpool, NS.

In keeping with Max’s wishes cremation has taken place and a gathering of family and friends will take place at a later date.  Shirley would like to personally thank the nursing staff of long-term care at Dr. Charles LeGrow Health Centre, who became like family over the last 2 ½ years.  Donations may be made to the ALS Society of NL.
