It is with great sadness that the family of the late Winston Herritt announce his passing on Saturday, October 14th, 2023 at home, with his loving family by his side at the age of 62. Born in Burnt Islands, Winston was the son of James and Vera Herritt.

Winston will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 39 years, Joy Herritt. He also leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, his children, Chris (Leeann) Herritt, and Christina (Kyle) Sack, grandchildren, Chrissy, Sarah, Kylie, and Kalub, brothers and sisters, Julie (Darryl) Francis, Pauline King, Mary (Jr) Scott, Bonnie (Wayne) Hodder, Melida (Jerome) Bryan, Tom (Denise) Herritt, Seaward (Isabell) Herritt, Albert (Tammy) Herritt, Christopher (Margo) Thorne, brothers and sisters in law, Karen (Wallace) Kinslow, John (Michelle) Bryan, Dennis Bryan (Darlene Downey), Faye (Trevor) Munden, Lynette Bryan, Ross (Paula) Bryan, Rosalie (Shawn) Sack, and Clifford Francis.

Winston was predeceased by his mother and father in law, Melvina and Henry Bryan, sisters, Elsie Francis, Darlene Bryan, and brother in law William Francis.

Family and friends may visit Oceanside Funeral Home in Port aux Basques on Sunday, October 15th, from 2:00 — 4:00 & 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Visitations will continue Monday, October 16th, at 11:00 a.m, from the family home in Burnt Islands. The funeral service will take place on Tuesday, October 17th at 11:00 a.m., from St. George’s Anglican Church with Rev. Dianna Fry officiating. Interment to follow at Hillside Haven Cemetery. Flowers accepted or donations in Winston’s memory may be made to the family. Funeral arrangements were under the care of Oceanside Funeral Home, 23 Read Street, Port aux Basques.
