It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of the late Patrick Glavine announce his passing on Tuesday, November 7th, 2023, with his loving family by his side at Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook at the age of 73. Born in Botwood, Patrick was the son of the late Helen and Edward Glavine.

Patrick leaves to mourn with fond and precious memories his loving wife of 52 years Joan (nee Osmond), his beloved children, David Glavine, Lance (Heather) Glavine, Carla (Suzanne) Glavine, and P.J. Glavine, his grandchildren, Kylee, Ty, Ryley, and Liam, his special friend (who was like a daughter) Vanessa (Steve) Newman. He also leaves to mourn brothers and sisters, Dolly (Brian) Corbett, Agnes (Jim) Morrison, Lillian Glavine (Jim), Helen (Brian) Hollett, Alice Glavine, Edward (Joan) Glavine, Jude (Bonnie) Glavine, Theresa (Dave) Dueck, Martina Glavine (Russell Glesby), Mickey Glavine (Hannah), Muriel Glavine, brothers and sisters in law, Grace (Roy) Osmond, Bernice (Ned) Janes, Margaret (Gerald) Blackmore, Irene (Ivan) Bragg, Albert (Sylvia) Osmond, Dave Osmond (Nancy Dodge), Cindy (Hiram) Billard, plus a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Patrick was predeceased by his beloved son, Mitchell Glavine in 2004.

Patrick and his loving wife Joan moved to the Codroy Valley in 1979 where they happily resided until his passing. They raised their family of five children and four grandchildren who he loved dearly. He was a very hard working man who loved the outdoors and spending time with his family. He was a great husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He will be deeply missed by all his family and those that had the privilege of meeting him.

Family and friends may visit St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church on Thursday, November 9th from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m. a Vigil will be held at 7:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, November 10th at 2:00 p.m. with Father Terry officiating. Interment to follow at Mount St. Thomas Cemetery, Great Codroy. In memory of Patrick, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
