It is with great sadness that the family of the late Cora Helena Spencer announces her peaceful passing on Monday, February 5, 2024, at Dr. Charles L LeGrow L. Health Center at the age of 94, with her loving family by her side. Born in New Harbour, NL, she was the daughter of the late Philip and Victoria Prosser.

With loving and precious memories Cora leaves behind her children, Raymond (Linda) Spencer, Philip (Denise) Spencer, both of Port aux Basques, grandchildren, Paul Bateman, Shawn (Tracey) Bateman, Christopher (Chasity) Spencer, Tyler (Kathleen) Spencer; her great-grandchildren, Freeman Spencer, Whitney (Cory) Spencer, Dakota (Kalie) Bateman, Nicholas (Nadalee) Bateman, her great-great-grandchildren, Holden Stephenson, Everly and Oliver Bateman.

Cora was the last surviving member of her family, she was predeceased by her husband, Freeman Spencer, infant son, Freeman and daughter Mary Victora Bateman, sisters, Emily (Henry) Dunford, Ella Organ Ramsome, brothers and sister-in-law, Sam (Esther) Spencer, Hartley (Beatrice) Spencer, Jessie (Phillip) Matchem and mother and father-in-law, Mary and Samuel Spencer.

The family will be receiving family and friends Wednesday, February 7th 2:00-4:00 P.M. and 7:00-9:00 P.M. at Oceanside Funeral home. Funeral service will take place on Thursday, February 8th at 11:00 A.M. from St. James Anglican Church with Rev. Jane Allen officiating. Interment will follow at St. James Anglican Cemetery, Barachois Hill. Flowers graciously accepted or donations in memory of Cora may be made to St. James Anglican Church.
