Obituary of Gerald Wayne King

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of the late Gerald Wayne King announces his peaceful passing on Monday, October 14th, 2024, at Dr. Charles L LeGrow Health Center with his loving family by his side, at the age of 76. Born in Burnt Islands, Gerald was the son of the late Raleigh King and Olive King-Walters (nee Munden)
Gerald Wayne leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, his wife of 51 years, Sybil King (nee Vautier). He also leaves behind his loving children, Brian (Claudia) Vautier, Sonya (Baine) Hodder, and Justin King, and his grandchildren, Dustin, Vanessa, Denesta, and Julissa, to whom he’d always say “…I loves yah all”
He also leaves to mourn, his brothers and sisters, Marjorie King, Sarah (John) Osmond, Faye (Roland) Thorne, Dana (Eileen) King, Ross (Carol) King, and Glen (Roslyn) King, brothers and sisters in law, Hubert (Shirley) Vautier, Max (Claire) Vautier, Gerald (Debbie) Vautier, Susie Thorne, and Gilbert Riles, his aunt Viola Reed, and uncle Llewellyn Munden, plus a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Gerald Wayne was predeceased by his brothers, Llewellyn King, Norman King, stepfather, Robert Walters, sisters and brothers in law, William Kinslow, Albert Bond, Walter (Edna) Vautier, Chesley (Lois) Vautier, Carrie (Max) Stone, Kathleen (Jack) LeRiche, Amy Riles, and Mildred (Jack) King.
The family wishes to give many thanks to his wonderful caregivers, Paula Keeping and April Anderson.
In keeping with Gerald Waynes wishes, cremation has taken place; family and friends may visit St. George’s Church in Burnt Islands on Thursday, October 17th, from 2:00 -4:00 & 7:00 -9:00 p.m. The funeral service will take place on Friday, October 18th at 11:00 a.m. with Deacon John Billard officiating. Interment to follow at a later date. Flowers accepted or donations in Gerald’s memory may be made to the family. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Oceanside Funeral Home.
