It is with great sadness that the family of the late Bernie Walters announces his passing on Saturday, December 14th, 2024 at the age of 80 at Bay St. George Long Term Care Center. Born in Port aux Basques he was the son of the late Jack and Pricilla Walters.

Bernie leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, his wife of 59 years, Liz Walters (nee Durnford), his loving children, Raylene (Mike) Baker, Brent (Tina) Walters, and Troy Walters (Tanya McNeil), grandchildren, Brooke Baker, Breanna Walters, Jay Walters, and Tanner Walters, sister, Corella Appleby, sisters in law, Ann (Winter) Billard, Joan Baggs, Hilda Coleman, June (Jim) Scott, Linda Durnford, as well as nieces, nephews, and friends.

Bernie was predeceased by brothers and sisters, John (Beulah) Walters, Hazel (Willoughby) Harvey, Norman (Melita) Walters, Bobby Walters, Marie (Freeman) Organ, mother and father in law, Alexander and Rita Durnford, brothers in law, Garfield Durnford, Michael March, Willard Baggs, John Wayne Coleman.

Family and friends may visit Holy Sprit Anglican Church, Isle aux Morts, on Tuesday, December 17th from 2:00 – 4:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m. Funeral service will follow on Wednesday, December 18th at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Ken Abbott officiating, interment to follow at Hillside Haven Cemetery, Isle aux Morts road. Flowers accepted or donations in Bernie’s memory can be made to Holy Spirit Church.
