It is with significant sadness and heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Anne Hardy, age 69, of Searston, on January 8th, 2025, surrounded by her family at the QE11 Health Science Hospital. Born in Port aux Basques, Anne was the daughter of late Ephriom and Christina (Keeping) MacDonald.
Anne leaves to mourn the love of her life, husband, Clarence Hardy of 50 years. Anne will be fondly remembered by her sons Justin (Nadine) Hardy, Jonathan (Janice) Hardy; her pride and joy grandchildren, Alexis (Ben), Jake, Haley, Owen and Kate; great grandchildren Riley and Josie; immensely missed by her brothers and sisters, Sheila (Ernie) Bryan, Gerald (Kathleen) MacDonald, Vera (Tom) Harvey, Claude (Patsy) MacDonald, Susan (Roland) Harvey, Martina (Rob) MacDonald, sister in law, Mary (Gerald) Hardy, brother in law, Ward (Dianne) Hardy, and a large number of nieces, nephews and friends.
Anne was predeceased by her brother Milton, nephew Gerard, niece Vanessa, nephew Patrick, father in-law Freeman, mother in-law Cassie and brother in-law George.
Anne touched the heart of everyone she met, she was spontaneous, loved adventure, being outdoors, going to the cabin, hunting, fishing, and going for walks on Searston beach. She always enjoyed entertaining friends, as she loved to party and dance. She often dabbled in the kitchen baking cookies, which she shared with her family and neighbours. The pain of missing this beautiful soul is a reminder of the joy of loving her, Anne will be missed beyond measure.
In keeping with Anne's wishes, cremation has taken place. A funeral service will take place Friday, April 25th, at 2:00 p.m. at St George's Church in Burnt Islands, with Deacon John Billard officating. Interment will follow on Saturday, April 26th, at 11:00 a.m., at Hillside Haven Cemetery. Forever in our hearts, now time to rest in eternal peace.
