It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of the late George Walters announces his sudden passing on Thursday, June 15, 2023 at Western Memorial Regional Hospital at age 77, with his loving family by his side.

Born in Isle aux Morts, George was the son of the late Garfield and Sarah Jane (nee Scott) Walters. He will be forever missed by his loving wife of 58 years, Vivian Walters, and their children, Ronnie (Kendra) Walters, Darren (Diana) Walters and Krista Walters (Martin Gallant), grand-children, Erica Walters (Jonathan Kettle), Liam Walters (Britney Hart), Addison Gallant and great-grandson Ronin Kettle.

George also leaves to mourn brothers and sisters, Garfield Walters, Ella (Con) Davis, Marina (Alonzo) Hurley, Joshua (Ada) Walters, Minter (Loretta) Walters, Mary Anderson, Cornelius Walters, brothers and sister-in-laws, Emma Walters, Lawrence Snook, Clem AuCoin, Evelyn Keeping, Dorothy (Jake) Proulx, Henry Keeping, Ethel Keeping, Sheila Keeping, and Kelly (Betty) Keeping, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and a large circle of friends.

George was predeceased by siblings William Walters, Carrie Snook, Elizabeth (Emmanuel) Caines, Rose AuCoin, and baby sister Annie Walters, brothers and sisters in laws, Annie May Walters, Ralph Anderson, Austin Keeping, Louise Keeping, Clarence Keeping, Edward Keeping, Susie (Sandy) Organ.

Dad was as strong as an ox, with the hands of a bear, and stubborn as a mule. He was our Mr. Fix-it, our shoulder to lean on, and our story teller. He was always up for a laugh and you never knew what he would be up to next. He would help anyone in anyway he could, and was so proud of where he lived. Our lives will never be the same in his absence.

Family and friends may visit Holy Spirit Anglican Church in Isle aux Morts on Sunday, June 18th from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Monday, June 19th from 2:00 to 4:00 & 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 21st. at 2:00 p.m. officiated by Deacon Herb Park Interment to follow at Hillside Haven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in George’s memory can be made to the Holy Spirit Church, Isle aux Morts.
